Draft
3 was distributed by Lucetta. It
was that revised on April of 1999. Tom
Nast cleaned up the language and would send Lucetta comments via E-mail.
The Board must follow the ’94 By-Laws for ratifying procedures.
New Members Party: 40 people are signed up so far. Committee heads should be prepared to present their activity and what opportunities there is for involvement. Roger should be prepared to explain the Treasurer’s position.
Emerald Downs: The Deposit is in.
Chehalis Tour: May 22 - The pre-tour run is on Saturday. There will be a full promotion of the event in the next magazine. This will be the shake down run for Karl.
Dyno Day: May 15 - Will be promoted in the next magazine. Josh can come up if 4 people will buy chips for their car.
Bill discussed using Robinswood Park as an option to “The Lid” on Mercer Island. His preliminary investigations show that the Robinswood location would save some money and would provide some better amenities for participants and guests (more parking, better restrooms, etc). Bill discussed Lance’s idea to limit judged cars to being a minimum 12-months old. There was not a consensus for this idea right now. Another idea was to feature a particular chassis each year. That idea will be looked in to.
The banquet is in limbo. Robert who was going to coordinate it is moving. Rick Brown can still help.
Jacqueline reports that the first school is full with 40 cars and plenty of extras on the waiting list. Jacqueline bought 50 cones for $309 and still needs to purchase fire extinguishers. She still needs to determine the cost for replacing the radios.
Lance is sending out a promo for the first PIR lapping day to all of those that attended the Feb. Instructors Clinic.
Wes discussed the Kitch driving school that several members are planning to attend.
Roger reports that he did not have to pay the insurance all at once. He wrote a check for $3,500 and will cut a second for $1,500. This coverage is the same cost as last year but with better coverage. Roger suggests billing bad accounts monthly and those businesses with good credit bi-monthly. He will send out a notice in this regard.
Mary Lee is home and the cash is flowing again.
Returned the check to Bellevue Motor Works. Redmond Motor Works won’t return calls. David would like to coordinate with Mary Lee and Roger regarding collections. Bradley’s is still past due. Hugh will have a talk with Bradley. Roger will call Traxx about their payment.
The April issue will come out on time with a new publisher. In May we will probably change printers. David passed out the Zundfolge financial information for the year so far.
Presently Portland ACA is not offering us enough to make printing extra copies of the magazine for their use worth our time and expense. David will investigate and bring back additional options.
A discussion ensued regarding the cost of the club newsletter and it’s proportional use of the yearly dues that members pay. David feels that the newsletter is the one thing that every member participates in and is worth the expense, and feels presently there is not much else earmarked to use general funds. Others expressed concern that too much money was being spent on the newsletter, to the detriment of other club events. Concern was also voiced that the focus of the newsletter should be more towards club events and follow-up. There is a suggestion to do a sample phone poll of members to find out how they use the club and what do they find most valuable.
Brian and Hugh sat in the CCA National Board Meeting at the St. Louis Gateway Tech event. Hugh says they are nice people. He says the new president, Bailey Tailor, is not as concerned about our chapter but would like to see us join CCA. They can send someone out. A couple of CCA names were discussed. The Board would like to see someone with a long CCA background. Bailey Tailor, Mark Luckman, and Leif Anderberg were mentioned as possible candidates. Brian will see if someone can come out around September 18. We would have a General Meeting for all members to sit in on. Brian will draft a general notice for publication in Zündfolge.
The International Council wants to see one umbrella club in each country. Associate clubs can belong in an umbrella arrangement.
Lucetta will need to collect the money a little different for the vintage races this year.
Greg is helping Portland ACA with their web page. Our web page costs $300 per year.
Bill Spornitz brought up the show ‘n shine. It was agreed to investigate the possibility of combining it with our first track event.
Jacqueline says that 6 instructors from our club went to Spokane for the Inland Empire Driving School.
Meeting adjourned around 10:30 PM
