Next month’s meeting will be at Round Table Pizza in Overlake Park area (Bellevue)
Regarding the CCA Chapter Congress for October 6th & 7th, there is still no answer yet if we can send an alternate.
Treasurer’s Report:
We have $8253.94 in the checking account, without including money coming in from the Rally and some advertising payments.
General Meetings:
Jim Millet recommends we try a general meeting at Haury’s Lake City Collision Service with owner Jeff Butler. We can also do an open house at Fiske’s in Kent where they sell complete wheel and tire packages.
Video Night follow-up: (4/18) Lance reported there were 67 people in attendance, with very good feedback from the crowd.
Spring TSD Rally follow-up (4/21) Ken Olsen reported to Lance that there were 35 entries, had beautiful shirts, and great weather.
Dyno Day – 5/12: Wes reported to Lance we could take 20 cars, and he has 12 so far.

Detailing Session at Bradley’s – 6/30: Tom working on the details.
Historics Car Corral – 7/7 – 7/8: Lucetta says she has 20 slots available, with 8 already taken.
Driving Schools:
Jacqueline’s report: “ May 18th & 20th Driver Schools are now both full. Students were provided with confirmation packets, which included the new tech form & a sample of the waiver form they will be signing at the track, so that they could understand what they are signing prior to arrival. The Ground School is scheduled for May 15th from 6:30 –8:00pm at Bellevue BMW. For students attending they’ve been asked to bring their helmets so that we may check them for proper Snell rating stickers. Instructor packets will be sent out next so that they can be prepared for the school. Intercoms – I received a portion of the order last weekend and expect to receive more this weekend. Instructors will be notified that they are in so they can choose to make arrangements prior to the schools to pick them up. New track radios have been purchased to replace our old ones. We came under our budget by purchasing a less expensive type of radio. Walt will provide the details for you at the meeting.”
Walt provided the following information: Track inspection forms have been printed and we have agreements from BMW Seattle, Strictly BMW, Auburn Foreign Car, and Car Tender to provide the inspection for a set $35 fee. The forms will be sent out to novice school participants with their information packets. I am still working on the new handbook.
Tours/Rally:
Karl reported: June 16 th will be the LeMay tour. We have 16 people going so far, according to Marty. The Wine tour – room have been booked at Howard Johnson. There are 13 cars, with 22 people going to date. BMW Car Club of British Columbia will host the BMW Fest Northwest in Harrison Hot Springs, B.C. Canada from September 14-17th
Web Site:
Dale states he is behind on updates. Hopes to get caught up soon. There is an issue of space. We are using it up fast. Need to increase disk space. Motion was made and seconded, and the Board approved spending up to $200 for more space.
Concours:
July 29th. Chris is working on a photo shoot for the poster. The coloring event for children will be just an event, not a contest.
Zundfolge:
Deadline May 11th for the June issue. Deadline for July issue is June 15th. Regarding the mailing services, most businesses won’t do it because our permit is too complicated. Lucetta will meet with one business that is interested in doing the job. She will get Greg M. and this man to talk directly regarding the format needed. A motion was made, seconded, and the Board approved having a mailing service do the Zundfolge since we are sending out 2500 magazines.
Roster/Membership:
Joni – only 56 labels this month, relieved! Change of addresses need to go to CCA for them to make the changes. Greg is the contact person to work these problems out.
Report from Greg: “We have 2514 members, this includes 142 Associate members. There are 56 new members this month. There has been a small problem of a few members from the BMW ACA not getting merged into the National files. They all seem to have been 10/01 renewals and were probably seen as 10/00 at the time of inputting the information. Lance is aware of the issue of getting this cleaned up. Hopefully there will be very few in the coming months. We are trying to make people aware of making their address changes with National to avoid the delay in getting the correction in.”
Banquet:
Need to get an article in the magazine announcing the position available to chair the banquet event.
The Board voted to send a notice per the bylaws to David Lightfoot alerting him of absences from previous board meetings.
Roundabout:
From Greg: I received my Novice ISCCA license and will be driving a novice race this season. Let me know what transaction is going to happen with the idea of having a mailer do the future newsletters.”
