President’s Report:

Chapter Congress will be October 6th & 7th.  Both President and Treasurer can go.  Will be in Minnesota.  Lance asked Keith W. if we could appoint someone to go.  Haven’t heard back yet from Keith.  Lance unable to go.  National will pay airfare and hotel expenses.  Registration forms are coming.

Meeting locations – Round Table Pizza (Overlake area) does not charge to use their room.  We can order our own food ahead of time.  This will save us room rental fees and the burden each month on someone bringing dinner to our current location.  We will try it for our June board meeting.  The May 3rd meeting will continue to be at the current location.

Treasurer Report:

Tom reported we have a balance of $11,292.30.  He will do banking over the Internet with Washington Mutual Bank.  There is no charge for this service.  Tom and Lance will have access to the account.  We will file with the IRS as a new CCA chapter, to satisfy CCA requirements.  We need an accountant with experience on non-profit organizations to help us.  Will ask if anyone in the club is available and willing to help out.

General Meetings:

New Member meeting follow-up – 3/10:  Jacqueline reported the sign in sheet showed 66 people present.  Had very good feedback.  We need to do this again!  Having the meeting at the beginning of the year was a good plan

.

E36 Tech Session follow-up –3/31:  Jim reported there were 47 people registered and about 50 were present.  He had feedback saying it was good information.  After 2 hours everyone was still listening intently.  Will do a follow-up on modifications.  Car tender was pleased with the number of people attending.

Video night – 4/18:  Getting racing videos put together.  The restaurant owners are ready for us!

Spring TSD Rally – 4/21:  Ken Wear reports there are 20 teams signed up so far.  He expects to have about 30 teams.   The board approved $200 to buy shirts for workers.  Satch will be participating in the rally and speaking at the dinner afterwards.

Dyno day – 5/12:  Wes is getting feedback.

Detailing session at Bradley’s:  Date unknown at this time.  Bradley is excited about doing this again.  Will do a detail for someone at the clinic.

Z3 Tech Session – 6/02:  Karl reported Auburn Foreign Car would host it.  They are excited about doing it.  It is a nice facility.  They will cover issues related to Z3’s, like changing a tire.  Karl will take suggestions on topics to cover.

Dinan Tech Session at Strictly BMW will be organized by Rick Gulstrom, possibly July 14th ?

Pacific Raceway upgrades – possible general meeting subject.  John Love will be available to make a presentation when he is in town.  Possible dates would be either Wednesday July 25th or Tuesday July 31st.  The Porsche Club and Alfa Club will be invited to join us.  We will try to use the Mercer Island Community Center for the location.

Driving Schools:

Jacqueline reported the trip to Button Willow, California was a good event.  Attending the instructor’s clinic was Jacqueline, Walt Conley, and Hugh Golden.  As a CCA Instructor you can go to other chapter events as an Instructor.  It was good to see the way CCA events are run.  The cost for students was almost $400, covering the cost of paying for instructor’s airfare, lodging, and meal expenses.  Students receive nice coats.  There is no track time available for the instructors.  Wristbands in various colors are used to identify different run groups, etc.  Jacqueline has ordered these for use in our school.  Instructors all used radio/helmet intercoms.  Vinyl numbers were used on the rear windows of the cars.  Instructors received yellow polo shirts with blue graphics.  Jacqueline will order shirts for our May school. Toyo sponsored this event.  Les Schwab is the biggest tire dealer here in Washington State, and they carry Toyo tires.  Three topics were of concern to Jacqueline regarding our program: carrying passengers, Tech inspections, and convertibles.  Regarding carrying passengers, Dan Tackett and the board decided to let us keep our program as established.  With tech inspections, we will have a tech sheet that goes out with our confirmation letter, showing the tech inspection information that needs to be done by a professional shop and students need to bring the tech sheet back with them.  This takes the responsibility off of us on “teching” the cars.  Jacqueline wants to implement this into our program for the safety of the drivers and the safety of the instructors riding in the cars.  The costs involved should be considered “a cost to go play”.  These inspections need to be done by certified ASE inspectors.  The Board voted on using a new form, and having cars inspected before every event.  The Board approved it. The May school is almost full.  It was suggested the club have helmets available to rent to students.  Motorcycle helmets can be purchased for a nominal cost.

Tours/Rally:

The LeMay tour will be June 16th.  Marty Hovenkoftter is planning it.  June 23-24 will be the Wine tour.  Reservations are being made already at hotels.

Web Site:

Dale will get zip disks for archive keeping and use CD Rom burner to put information on C.D.’s   He will do an email list for Greg.  Registration for Nurburgring School will be announced in the next Zundfolge.

Concours:

Chris reported we need to limit registration to 100 – 125 cars.  Keep the Marymoor site in mind for next year if it is available.

Zundfolge:

Deadline is April 13th for May issue.  Deadline for June issue moved to May 11th.  The May issue will feature club racers and an article being written by Michael Lord.  Lucetta mailed 2452 magazines, and she is looking into an outside mailing service.  One estimate was $220/month and another was $400/month.  We will save money on postage by using a service because the magazines will be bar coded.  The Board agreed to let Lucetta inquire and get quotes on the services available.

Roster/Membership:

We have 2354 members.  Only a few members were missed with the conversion and are notifying Greg that they are not getting their magazine.
