Potential Benefit Charity for Annual Banquet
Lucetta Lightfoot introduced Marilee McCorriston from the Arthritis Foundation.  Marilee gave a detailed description of the Arthritis Foundation and how they can support the club in putting on the banquet.
Martin Hovenkotter thanked the club for contributing to the NW Parkinson Association at the past banquet and said they would be happy to participate again and duplicate their efforts.
Bill Spornitz made a pitch on Louis Hesselt van Dinter’s behalf for the Medic One Foundation since Louis was unable to attend the meeting.
The board discussed then later in the meeting voted on the charity.  The Arthritis Foundation was approved as the benefit charity for the 2006 Annual Banquet.

Treasurer's Report
Martin reports that the treasury is in good shape, as usual.  Martin submitted a financial statement, which is attached to these minutes by its mention.  The Chapter has assets of about $50,000.  The first two track events, and payment for future track related activity used up some of the money but the next three track events should bring in about $17,000.

General Meeting and Non-Track Event Calendar
Club Clothing – Lance Richert asked what the board thought of running an ad in the Zündfolge magazine all year long so members can purchase clothing items at anytime, and not just pre-order during one month.  He is asked about shirts at many events and doesn’t always have the styles or sizes the members need.  Since we now have a storage unit, Lance would like to have shirts and sweatshirts made up in various styles and sizes and store them.  He wouldn’t always have to bring the entire stock to the events as he did in the past since members can actually get them at anytime through the magazine ad.  The board approved an investment of $2,500 to have shirts and sweatshirts made up for spontaneous sales.
Laptop Projector – Walt Conley researched a few different laptop projectors and reported that the Optoma EZPro 739 was favored for quality, features, and price.  The board approved purchase of this laptop projector with a hard case, not to exceed $2,000.
Chapter Event Calendar – It was suggested that the event calendar should be published via e-mail once a month to the board and sent between the 10th and the 15th of the month.  This would enable the board to see where this is a void or an abundance of events in a given timeframe and help disperse the events.
VRM Tech Session – 120 people attended this event.  Obviously very successful!
Women’s Tech Session – Carrie Bishop will head this event that takes place on May 21 at Car Tenders
Risk Management Advisor – The board voted and approved of the new board position of Risk Management Advisor and Rich Milham will hold the position.  It is an appointed position and is required to be filled for one calendar year.
New 3 Series – David Lightfoot is in contact with the local dealers and waiting to see when this can take place.  Tends to be an event that is scheduled with short notice since the dealers don’t always know just when the cars will arrive.
Haury’s Paint and Body Work Tech Session – Jim Millet is the contact for this April 23rd event.
Loop Tour – Cascade Loop Tour scheduled for May 7
Karting Enduro – Dave Clary is heading this event and it will take place May 15 at Sykart.
Autocross– BMW Club may share autocross site with Bremerton Sports Car Club in
Bremerton.  No date set yet per Martin.
BMWCCA National Board Meeting – This board meeting will take place in Portland on June 4th.
Group 2 Motorsports Tour – David Lightfoot is heading this facilities tour and a tour of the cars on June 11th.
Griot’s Garage – June 25th is the date of this tech session headed by Lance Richert.
SOVREN Historics – Lucetta Lightfoot is taking reservations for the car corral July 1, 2, and 3 at Pacific Raceways.  Twenty cars per day, $25 fee per car.  The board approved purchasing a ready-up tent for the car corral and other events that take place throughout the year.  Cost not to exceed $1,100.
Portland Historics – Takes place the weekend of July 9.  de-Anna and Dane Martin are heading a caravan to the event.
Dyno – Dyno BBQ at Carb Connection on July 30 arranged by Jeff Butler.
Mountain Twisties Tour – This event takes place August 27.
Hill Climb – A tour may take place to coincide with the SOVREN Hill Climb race in October.
LeavenworthThere may be a Leavenworth tour in the fall.
BMW Collectables – Event to take place in early December.

Track Committee
Financial Status on Books – Instructor’s Clinic and Novice Driving School lost money.  Three more events at Pacific Raceways will most likely be in the black, making the season a positive rather than a negative total.
Road Course Advisory Board – Tom Olsson has transferred the duties to Bill Spornitz to attend these meetings regarding Pacific Raceways.
Street Survival Statusl – Dead.
Website for Instructors – Being utilized by instructors.
Driving School Standards, Age Limit 18 – Walt Conley report earlier that National’s thought 16 was okay for
Bremerton events but Rich Milham (the new Risk Management Advisor) feels the insurance won’t cover any mishaps.

Tours/Rally
Spring Rally – Low registration so far.

SIG Groups/Events
E30 Picnic – August 14th at XXX Drive-In in Issaquah headed by Lance Richert.

Concours
Griot’s is on board as a sponsor and to give gifts.  Concours takes place July 24th at Cedar River Park in Renton and is headed by Lance.

Zündfolge
• May 3 deadline for June issue.

Roster and Membership
Roster needs to be updated and redistributed to the board members.
Membership is up nationally by 92 members per Lynne Eskil.
AOL may block Louis Hesselt van Dinter’s e-mails to the members as they recognized them as SPAM now.  He may loose his account if it continues.  Tom Olsson suggested a Yahoo users group to resolve the problem.  There should be just one or two moderators.  Once this has been established, it will be advertised in the Zündfolge.

Roundabout
Martin has a 2000 540 for sale
Three Across America – 50 seats per city are available but folks are not showing up after making reservations
David Lightfoot suggested Branded Tent produce the 10 X 10 easy-up for the BMW Club and have logos on it.  Other suggestions were discussed.
Renton Technical College is offering car restoration classes.
Wes and Ken Hill will be drivers for Team Seattle at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona race in February 2006.

Next Board Meeting -Thursday, May 5th
The next Board meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. at the Mercer Island Fire Station 91

Rick adjourned the meeting at 9:45 p.m.  Quick discussion that the meetings should start at 6:45 p.m. since most members are already there.
