President's Report
News from National
• no report

Nominating Committee
Lynne reported that the committee met last week to begin sorting out who's interested in serving on next year's Board.  All Officer positions are open.  The committee will have a report ready for the October Board meeting.

Treasurer's Report

David Lightfoot reported via email that the treasury is in the usual good shape.  Cash position at the end of August is $72,764.  Receivables are $6,136 before billing for the September Zündfolge ads.  Jim Millet and David have been in contact with our few delinquents and we're making real progress.  He'll have a more comprehensive third quarter report at the October meeting.  With Tom Cox out of town too, he hasn't tried to hand off the checkbook.  David will be gone from September 1-6.  If people have costs to be reimbursed, please mail the receipts to David.

General Meetings

Past events:

Carpenter Creek Winery Social, 8/22 - Lucetta reports that the MS benefit wine event at Carpenter Creek Winery was very successful. Lots of delicious Bratwurst and wine to taste!  A recap of the event will be in the Nov/Dec Zündfolge issue.

Upcoming events:

Italian Concours - event cancelled due to the City of Seattle deciding at the last minute the pier was unsafe for the weight of the cars.

Book Signing, 9/11 - all is ready for a successful event.

Ste. Michelle Concours, 9/18 - no report, there's a link on the Porsche Club's website.

Hornet Race, 9/25 - Lynne reports it's going as planned.  Lance will drive.

Video Night, 10/13 - at Bison Creek Pizza.  Will feature Jeff Butler's first Novice race.

Tom Armstrong Collection Tour - Lynne still working on finding a mutually agreeable date.

VRM Tour - No report, will hopefully happen next Spring.

Tours and Rally
Tours -
Past tours
     • Mountain Twisties, 8/28 - 34 cars participated, Martin had great weather and no problems.
Future tours:
     • Hurricane Ridge / Maloney Car Collection, 9/12 - will start at Pt. Gamble and will be lots of organizational fun.
     • Fall Wine Tour, 10/2 - Ken reports that all's ready to go.  Hotel rooms have been reserved.  He anticipates 30 cars.
     •
Fall Color, 10/9 - This will be the last tour of the year.  Martin anticipates a good turn-out.

Rally - no report

Track Committee
Past Events - The August 29th school was a great success, although there was some issue with the services at the track.

Upcoming Events
-

• October 17th Novice school is ready to go.  The classroom session will be at the Mercer Island Library on the 14th.  There was some discussion about the need for corner workers and EMT's if we wished to continue running the full SCAN course for the Instructors at the end of the day.  The Board encouraged Bill to go ahead with the added expense, as long as it isn't exorbitant.
• October 30th school (Portland) will be promoted in both the September and October Zündfolge.  We will have to play this one by ear as far as planning goes, as things haven't quite gelled yet.  We have also found out that there's an autocross schedule for the infield that day.

• Chris Mason reports that the November 13th Advanced Skills Day at Bremerton will be set up very similar to the Novice days, but geared toward our advanced drivers.  The first promotion will be in the October Zündfolge.

SIG Groups and Events
E36 Street Fair, 8/22 - got rained on, which limited turn-out somewhat.  Still, 30 cars showed, and Martin moved the party inside Bison Creek, which were very gracious hosts.

Banquet
Going as planned.

Concours
Lance will supply BMW Seattle with extra copies of the September Zündfolge to help promote their involvement.

Zündfolge
The deadline for the October issue was last Tuesday, August 31st.
There is some question about remaining Board meeting dates.  It was decided to stick with first Thursdays to stay consistent.  Tom Cox has secured the Mercer Island Fire Station 91 for the October Meeting, and Tom Olsson will work on getting the Library for the November meeting.
Most past-due advertising accounts are paid.

Roster and Membership
•  Rick reports that National membership is at 67,862, 2354 up from last year.  We have 55 new local members this month.

Lucetta - had a Member approach her for resources on short-term lease ideas after the untimely demise of their new 5-series.
Jim - will be in Ireland and Scotland on vacation next month.
