BMW CCA Puget Sound Board Meeting

President Tom Cox called the meeting to order at 7:05

 

Presidents Report

Chapter Congress – Spring 2004, 3 people from each chapter may be allowed to go.  Depends on funds.  Street survival school – space still available.

 

Treasurers Report

David reports track rentals are paid off.  Doing OK financially.

 

Past Events

Steve Dinan brought stuff for show and tell.  Well attended, standing room only.

 

Upcoming Events

 

PCA/St. Michelle Concours: Al Lanng reports event is on track. Could use help with volunteers.  Just judging on cleanliness.

 

E30 Tech Session: On track reports Lance.  Ian Anderson from Striclty is setting agenda and handling RSVPs.

 

Video Night: Will be 12 November at Bison Creek and is on track Lance reports.

 

Womens Tech: Being planned by Lucetta.

 

Le May Tour: Will be Sept 13. $15 per head donation required Doug reports.  Limit to 50 per session.

 

SUV Tour:  Postponed due to fire hazard dryness in mountains Ken reports.

 

Wine Tour: A written report was sent to all board members. Tour is on track, wineries have been contacted, hotel rooms blocked, and a tour agenda set. We have 15 cars as registered participants to date, we will cap at 35 cars. An article was presented to Lucetta for publication in September ZF.

 

Fall Rally: This event is put on by CPN, status unknown.

 

Track reports

All checks turned in.  Invoices are in.  Bremerton wants user group feedback.  27 singed up for Laguna Seca.

 

SIG Chair – Marty Hovenkotter was voted in as the SIG Chair coordinator due to Chris Chow moving to Los Angeles.

 

SIG Reports

Dave C reports 8 Series meeting will be held in Northern CA with a large turnout expected.  Marty proposed E36 Picnic at Newcastle Beach Park on October 12th.  Club will support with cost to rent the cabana like we did with the E30 Picnic.

 

Banquet Report – Set for Jan 24th at the Design Center in Georgetown.  Theme will be “BMW Legends Night”.  Cost set at $35/$45 per person.  Need to coordinate enclosed trailers to bring display cars to the hall.  Proposed that National Multiple Sclerosis Society be the charity for the auction, with all proceeds after the banquet break-even point going to the charity.  Lance will lead the charity auction effort.

 

Concours Report – Will be asking for post event feedback in Zundfolge.

 

Zundfolge – Combined Nov/Dec issue deadline is Oct 14.  Need Kalander submissions separate.  Ad rates will stay the same.

 

Membership – 65 new member packets sent out.

 

Web Site – ad-hoc committee of deAnna, Doug, Jim, Lucetta and Ken will look at pros and cons of allowing paid web site advertising.

 

Nominating Committee – Jim reports 3 of 4 members met.  They are working on their stuff.

 

Roundabout – Bill would like to find someone else to do the insurance work, possibly someone with an insurance background.  Walt raced at T-hill!

Bifurcate “To divide into two parts”. Wordsmith Jim Millet actually used this word in a sentence.
