Opening Comments
7:00 Call to Order, Introductions and Opening Comments - President
The meeting was called to order by President Tom Cox at 7:05 PM at the
Mercer Island Community Center. Proposed Adjournment at 9:00 pm.
President's Report - News from National
1. New Regional VP, Eddie Funahashi
2. Board Badges are available from National, Ken Hill will check for
local supplier
3. Board Job descriptions are almost complete, should be done by next
meeting, contact Ken Hill
Event Reports
1. Bradleys Detail session
(Tom Olsson) set to go, 20 reservations in, will limit to 75.
2. BMW Book session (David Lightfoot)
will be held at Bellevue Library, February 22, 11-1
3. Hart tour (David Lightfoot)
Feb 22, 2 sessions; 8-10, 10-12. Bill Spronitz and Ken Olsen will provide
refreshments and will act as hosts while David zooms over to Bellevue
to also do the BMW Book fair.
4. Speedware Tech session (Tom
Olsson) March 8, 12-2. All set to go
5. Members Meeting (Rick Gulstrom)
all set for Bison Creek. RG has organized exposure for Club at Park
Place. Lance R to send Roundel to PP.
6. Re requests for membership info from SIGs
(or other). List of SIG contacts will be assembled for use by requesters.
Standing policy remains that club will not give out members info.
7. Haurys (Jim Millet) April
12 10-12. 80 participant limit.
8. David Lightfoot will transfer Calendar duties
to Ken Olsen
9. Track Inspection Tech session at Car Tender
being organized by Tom Olsson, no date yet.
10. E-30 Picnic (Lance Richert)
June 23, same location as last year. No need for insurance. $242 requested
in Park use fees.
MOTION: David Lightfoot moves to cover park fees for E-30 Picnic
of $242. SECONDED by Rick Gulstrom. VOTED on and PASSED unanimously.
11. Tour Dates (Doug Haussler)

We will continue to insure these tours at approximately $100 per Tour
per Club policy.
12. Lance Richert reports the possibility of a Karting
Enduro on March 23, no event organizer has been identified
to date.

Roster/Membership

Track Events
1. Schedule modifications: Add April 4 as Novice school (day 2) at PR,
Keep March 29th as Novice school (day 1) at Bremerton. Keep April 20th
as lapping day. Possible Competition License School through Proformance
June 9, 10.
2. Feb ZF will have notice and sign up for instructors clinic.
Banquet
1. 140 rsvps to date.
2. Need auction items asap
3. Hobbs all set
4. Need greeting volunteers
5. David Lightfoot will investigate credit card as payment method for
this and other events.
Tours/Rally
1. Rally planning underway. Discussion of costs resulted in a MOTION:
by Wes Hill to hold rally price at $60 per car, and to subsidize the
cost of trophies beyond the 10 top places (to 15 or 20). SECONDED and
PASSED unanimously.
Bill Spornitz, Wes Hill, Karl Seeger and Ken and Susan Olsen have voluteered
to run checkpoints and OC stations. Lance Richert will perform Starters
duties, Louise Vlasic and Dennis Hogan have expressed an interest in
establishing routes. We still need a volunteer act as scorekeeper.
2. Doug Haussler presented a proposal for governance rules for Tours
to address high speed and dangerous driving (copies were distributed
to all in attendance). Discussion resulted in unanimous approval in
concept with minor revisions. All Board members thanked Doug for his
attention to this important matter, and expressed their full support
of his actions to ensure the safety of the tours. Doug will finalize
the Rules and have them available for the Tour season.
Concours
1. Marymoor Park is the probable location
2. 6-series will be the featured car
3. Ken Olsen has accepted the assignment of Lead Judge and will hold
meetings to refine the scoring system and organize judges for the event.
4. We are looking for vendors to participate, Lance welcomes ideas
5. Sponsorship discussions are underway, with a positive result expected
SIG
1. Chris has been contacted by Dave Wilder who is interested in starting
an M5 SIG
Technical Events
Tom Passed, having reported above in Event Reports. The
Secretary thanks Tom for his brevity.
Treasurer
David Lightfoot reports that he has been given the deposit slips, but
not the checks. He understands the significance of this, and projects
that the Club balance will be safe. In other news, we have approximately
$64,000 in the Bank. It is noted that several substantial expenses will
hit soon as the track and event season starts.
Web Site
No news to report.
Roundabout
1. Ken Hill: Pacific Raceways will have a tire wall party at PR on
Jan 25 starting at 8 ayem to repair the tire safety barriers. Volunteers
desperately needed. Volunteers will get incentives which may include
time on track. Contact Ken to sign up.
2. David Lightfoot: has several old racing magazines available. The
Alpina Z-8 has been announced.
3. Rick Gulstrom: Park Place is a possible venue for all kinds of Tech
sessions, this should be investigated. (It seems hes spending
a fair bit of time at PP, is he shopping? Secy).
4. Lance Richert: reported on Shirt sales. General support for continued
effort in this direction, with a possible expansion of the offering.
5. Lucetta Lightfoot: ad sales are declining, we need to find more
advertisers.
6. Tom Cox: reports that Santa left a nice red (what else?) E-36 under
his tree. Look for it on the track. (where does he shop for trees?)
