History

I purchased this vehicle in late 1998, and proceeded to drive it to Baltimore the next year as I started a six-month work assignment there. It was a great ride. It performed flawlessly for the four day drive. I took the I-90 route, and although I couldn't open it up in Montana since they had just imposed a speed limit, I managed to get in some spirited sessions. Even though it had 97,000 miles when purchased, it was in great shape. It was so nice BMW Seattle had it on the showroom floor! It's my daily driver as I commute from Kent to downtown Seattle daily. The 5 speed can be a nuisance in stop and go freeway traffic, but there's something about stirring the gears that keeps it enjoyable. The odometer just turned 150,000 miles. My other car is a vintage 1984 (first of the C 4 Vettes) with only 8,800 miles. It only had 5,000 when I bought it almost three years ago. It's in the garage with a car cover, and I put about 1,500 mi/yr on it. It's kind of ironic that the Vette is an automatic, but that's the way I found it. I must admit the 525i is a better all around good performing, comfortable ride.
