1973 3.0cs
This 1973 3.0cs was found after a long search in the basement of an independant Mercedes repair garage in downtown Seattle. But for faded paint, dry-rotted tires (it had been in storage for some time) and damage to the rear seat, it seemed in decent shape. The owner gave it to me for a week end to check it out, which I did. I brought it home and surprised my wife: "Honey, it followed me home, can we keep it?" We had some new rubber mounted, some minor tune and hose work done and suddenly we were custodians of a coupe. A year later it went in for a thorough renovation, which took nine months. It has been cosmetically and mechanically faultless for the eight years we have now owned it (thanks Strictly BMW and Bernards Auto Body). We use it frequently for week end trips, and compete throughout the Northwest in Vintage TSD events. We plan to extend our competition to California this year. The car is completely stock , and sports a pair of 38 synchronous Webers, period correct BBS wheels and a pair of 1973 Heuer Rally watches. It is a delightful car to drive. Ken Olsen |
