History
After riding in an M Coupe at Seattle International Raceway back in 1998 I knew I had to own one some day.   In February of 2002 I spotted this CosmosSchwartz M Coupe sitting at a local Acura dealer.   A couple of months later the M Coupe was still sitting on the dealer’s lot.   Research revealed this M Coupe to be one of 49 produced in June 1999.   The car was originally delivered to a dealer in Virginia and then leased through a dealer in Southern California.   I drove in with my 1995 E36 M3 and departed with a big grin on my face in the M Coupe.   The next weekend found the M Coupe and me at Pacific Raceway discovering how to drive this tail happy machine.   After several driving school events I decided I was ready for some R-compound tires and competition brake pads to experience the full capabilities of my otherwise bone-stock M Coupe.   This thoroughbred car has seen some suspension modifications and many track miles at a variety of road courses to include Laguna Seca, ThunderHill, Spokane Raceway Park, and Pacific Raceway.   My M Coupe also sees a lot of back road tour miles and what a fun car to drive.   This rather strange looking Bimmer draws many puzzled looks and a thumbs-up from strangers. Recently, while waiting in traffic to cross the 520 floating bridge, a truck driver asked me what kind of car I was driving and observed it was the best looking car he had ever seen.   Not everyone shares his appreciation for this unique looking Bimmer.   Another time, when gassing up the M Coupe, the station attendant wanted to know what happened to the back of my Honda Civic.

With only 2,679 US spec M Coupes produced, it’s definitely a special car that stands out in the crowded milieu of today’s generic automobile designs.
