Vintage Racing Motors

9255 151st Ave NE, Redmond, WA

On March 24th, Saturday, the chapter will be visiting Vintage Racing Motors. VRM is one of the best vintage racing shops in the country. Our open house and guided tour will be led by long-time Club member Byron Sanborn, who runs the shop at VRM.

It has been four years since our last visit to VRM. While the shop hasn’t changed much, the cars are constantly changing. VRM works on customer cars and their own and there is always something interesting to see.

When I dropped by Byron showed me a Jaguar C-Type, a vintage Aston Martin, a beautiful Elva and a Bugatti that is just drop dead gorgeous. Just another day at the office for the VRM guys.

Of course, Byron will have a few BMWs on hand for us. You are likely to see the ex-Vasek Polak Batmobile, Byron’s perfectly restored 2002 Factory Turbo, a 700CS race car, a BMW-engined Elva or two and who knows what else. Suffice it say, you want to be there.

And there is also the chance for the odd Formula 1 car or Can-Am monster. Byron will give us a history of each car and some amusing stories.

The club will provide coffee and light breakfast snacks. Remember to bring your camera. The meeting is open to Club members and their guests. There is no charge but please RSVP to the undersigned so I have an idea how many to plan for.
