Tour to The Ridge Motorsports Park
06/10/2012 - 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Commons Mall
1928 S Commons, Federal Way, WA
Join Club Members on Sunday June 10th for our first Tour of 2012! We will travel across
the Narrows Bridge and along the scenic and twisty roads that line South Puget Sound
and Hood Canal. Nice weather should provide us with views of the Olympic Mountains.
Keeping gas prices in mind, this will be a relatively short Tour, only about 175 miles
round trip from Seattle.
Our destination will be the Northwest’s newest race track, The Ridge Motorsports Park
near Shelton. Opened just this Spring, it is an amazing new venue featuring a wide
smooth surface and plenty of elevation changes. We will be allowed to run a handful of
slow speed pace laps, courtesy of Ridge Racing School. This will be a great opportunity
to see the track in advance of the BMWCCA High Performance Driver Education day on
August 24th. No helmets or tech inspection will be required.
Lunch will be served at the track for a $15 per person charge. If you would like to join us
for lunch, you will need to let us know and RSVP with the number in your party prior to
June 14th. Plan on bringing cash to the Drivers meeting that morning. You may of course
bring your own lunch.
Plan on meeting at 9:00 AM in the parking lot of The Commons Mall, on 320th in
Federal Way. To get there, take exit 143 off of I-5, and go west for a few blocks. The
mall will be on your left. We will be parked in front of Starbucks. After a short drivers
meeting, we will depart at 9:30 sharp.
All Tours are driven on public roads, minding local traffic laws. We focus on safety, but
always make an effort to find little-known twisty roads that are enjoyable at any speed.
Your first time being part of a long line of shiny Bimmers will not be forgotten. While
we highly encourage participation in our High Performance Driving Schools, no special
skills or equipment are needed to participate in a Tour. Come alone or bring the whole
family.
Please email your RSVP and any questions to Scott Hieronymus at
tours@bmwpugetsound.com. All drivers must be BMWCCA members and we
will be asking for your membership number at the drivers meeting. Please visit
www.bmwpugetsound.com, click on Tours, and review the Club Tour Policy. Check the
Club Events section of the Message Board at www.bmwpugetsound.com as we get closer
for any updates. See you there!
