This year’s BMW Club Dyno Event had the largest turn out ever! Thirty-six Club members came out to flog their cars at Kirkland’s Carburetor Connection (www.carbconn.com). Great conversation, amazing BBQ burgers from resident master chef Steve Questad were had while roaring engines and turbos spooling surrounded their 4wd Chassis Dyno Jet 248C.
Modifications were put to the test by nearly all 36 entrants. There was a large diversity of BMWs showing their teeth from Gary’s bone stock 128 to Jamie’s Supercharged ‘03 M5 putting down nearly 500 horsepower to the rollers. This year’s highest entry (finally it’s a BMW!) was a boosted ’96 328 cranking out 523 whp and 441 ft lbs of torque.
A big thanks to Alex and his crew at Carb Connection for sharing their expertise and hard work for us at a discounted fee. These guys ran nonstop from 10:00 am to almost 4:00 pm to get all the cars run. Needless to say they were worn out by the end of the day! The next Dyno event is sure to bring out more entrants and exciting numbers.
Let’s have a look at the impressive turnout. Modifications are listed or if stock is stated as “none.” Note: not everyone turned in their dyno sheets so I don’t have numbers for every entry (sorry). For conversion to flywheel horsepower, use 18%.
