The most recent Art Car was created by American Jenny Holzer. Holzer's claim to fame is her provocative text images. Typically her works shine from walls or are chiseled into stone.
For Holzer's Art Car, she chose traditional race car markings and graphics. Six of Holzer's statements were applied to the surface of the BMW V12 LMR. Holzer's Art Car was the cover car for last month's Zündfolge. It was noted that Holzer's model used silver lettering while the real Art Car used blue lettering. This appears to have been incorrect. The real Art Car's lettering is a highly polished silver that looks like chrome. The result is that the lettering reflects the ambient colors.
Holzer's car participated in practice and made a ceremonial lap before the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans.
