Following Michael Jagamara Nelson, another Australian artist designed a BMW M3 Art Car in 1989: Ken Done.  Done's background is as a commercial artist and graphic designer.  He "retired" in 1980 to devote himself to painting.

Done aimed to express his fascination for the high performance M3 while creating something clearly Australian.  "I have painted parrots and parrot fish.  Both are beautiful and able to move at fantastic speeds.  I wanted my BMW Art Car to express the same qualities."  Most would agree that Done has succeeded in representing both speed and beauty in his own unmistakably Australian style.  Like the Nelson car, Done's M3 raced a full schedule in 1987.  It also raced once in 1988 before being set aside for Done to paint.
